Welcome to the Douglas County School System. School starts August 6 and we want to assist you in making your student enrollment efficient and easy. Kindergarten students and those new to the system will need to enroll at the Central Registration Center located at the Central Office Annex West at 4841 Highway 5 (the former Bill Arp Elementary School site), five miles south of Interstate 20. Student registration is available each day, Monday through Friday. The Central Registration Center is open year round. Students currently enrolled in our system will have their school records move up the next grade or the appropriate school for their attendance zone.
To register for kindergarten, a child must be five (5) years of age to begin kindergarten, which means the child must have been born by September 1, 2007 to attend school in the 2012-13 school year.
The following information/documents are required to enroll your child as a kindergarten student in the Douglas County School System. Avoid the long waiting line – enroll your child this summer.
1. Your child's Birth Certificate
2. Immunization form 3231 (marked complete for school)
3. Georgia Hearing, Dental and Vision form 3300
4. Social Security Card or waiver
5. Parent/Guardian photo I.D.
6. Middle and High School – Must Bring Discipline History
7. High School – Must Bring Transcript
8. Current mortgage statement and current utility bill OR Current lease and current utility bill - If living with family or friends, must bring multi-residence form signed by owner or leasee and notarized
