Principal's Corner

My core interest in becoming a principal is to build and support an effective professional learning community which promotes respect, safety, learning and achievement for all. Student achievement is one of the leading concerns of educators. We want to see our students succeed. We want to see them learn. We want to see their standardized test scores rise. We want to know that our students can compete against the best and brightest. We want to know without a shadow of a doubt that our students are receiving a top-notch education. Education should not just be measured by what students score on standardized tests, but by their zest for learning and achieving. We want our students to become independent thinkers and productive citizens.

Student achievement should help drive instructions, improve teaching skills, and target specific school improvement areas. It is a factor upon which educators are graded. I am knowledgeable on how to improve student achievement through helping teachers improve instructional delivery using best practices, analyzing leading and lagging data, and creating next steps. I want to make a difference by leading, helping, and sharing the knowledge I have with other educators, parents, and students. As well, I want to learn from other educators who are willing to share their abundance of wisdom. Simply put, I want to continue learning how to help students achieve.

I am honored to be working for Douglas County School System. I hope to utilize my educational knowledge to ensure learning and improvement for all. I have been in education for 19 years. I want every student to reach their full potential. I am committed to a good working relationship with students, parents, teachers, co-workers, and the community. I know that it is my daily approach to students and others that matters the most. I am going to do everything within my power to be a tool of inspiration and motivation. I am here to serve and make a positive difference!

 Learning is for everyone :-)
